You Never Know What’s Outside Your Front Door

I went out with a plan.  I had two pieces of fabric.  I even did a test shot in the bedroom shooting through the fabric at a table lamp.  It looked pretty cool.  I thought I could go for a walk with my camera and shoot some neat things.  Instead I got lost in garbage not two steps from my door.   Yup garbage.  There was a mountain of clearish white plastic containers piled up/falling over.  They were wet from rain and made an excellent subject.  I thought move on, Chimene, this isn’t what we came to do.  I walked to the end of the alley and liked the lines and the park in the distance and the two garbage bins in the foreground.  I decided, I wasn’t going to get around shooting garbage today, so I carried on.  More lines, more garbage…ok it was time to shoot the fabric.  Nothing seemed right or good.  Then it started raining.  I figured it was time to give up and go home.  All in all my shoot wasn’t a complete failure.  I got some great shots of garbage and I figured out what doesn’t work with my fabrics so I can try again.  Perhaps on a sunny day.  I am still excited about my fabric idea.

-2 Days Later-

Ok, so my garbage shots were just ok.  I went out to shoot today.  I had nothing in mind except the sun was out and the shadows were long.  I wanted to go out and chase some shadows.  I crossed the street from my apartment, and yup, you guessed it garbage. (I shouldn’t have written about garbage, now it’s all I see hahaha) I had another day of garbage, but these shots I like.  Wanna see my garbage?
